Bathroom Renovation

In the smallest room, space – and how you use it – matters the most. This heritage apartment’s petit WC, designed for a young Auckland professional, was planned and deployed with fine control over space and materiality. Symmetry and the delineation of space (through tiling) give the bathroom a feeling of spaciousness; the butterfly stool, swan hooks, ‘mystique’ of frosted glass and bespoke black-steel frame that supports the rectangular basin (a furniture piece rather than cabinetry) shows the elegance and romance that a few well-chosen items can convey.
